MRFA Retreat 2023 – Call for Proposals

Call for Proposals

Proposals are now being accepted for the 2023 Retreat which will be held in-person in Kananaskis on April 24-25, 2023 with a Writing Residency available by application for up to 20 attendees on April 25-27.

All Retreat proposals must

  • contribute to the professional development of MRU colleagues,
  • relate to the theme of the retreat, and
  • align with the Association’s member-approved mission statement.

Submit a Proposal (By December 21, 2022)

Please note: Most sessions will be in-person only with the exception of a few sessions where needed to ensure inclusion and accessibility. Members submitting proposals will have the opportunity to indicate preference for mode of delivery on the proposal submission form.


Registration and Accommodation Details

Registration will open in February 2023

  • There will be a discounted registration fee for contract members
  • Information about on site dependent care available through the resort will be provided closer to the date.
  • There will be the option in the registration process to purchase meal vouchers for your guests (at cost).
  • There will be a separate application process for the writing residency which will be open prior to the Retreat Registration period

Members will be provided with a discounted rate to book their accommodations at the Lodge.

Room sharing will be facilitated to help members keep costs down (the form will be available when registration opens)
