Contract faculty currently comprise over 50% of the membership of the MRFA, and contract faculty are regular members of the Association. As such, contract faculty enjoy the same benefits of membership as their full-time counterparts, and they are entitled to the same representation by the Association and its Executive Board.
Contract faculty are eligible for election to the MRFA’s Executive Board for all positions except President, Vice-President Negotiations, and Vice-President Policy and Grievance Officer, which must be held by tenured members. Contract faculty are also eligible for election to the various MRFA committees, as well as many MRFA-MRU joint committees.
