Sabbatical leave is seen as beneficial both for a tenured faculty member and the University. Through this type of leave, it allows the faculty member time away from their normal workload and allows them to more easily maintain and enhance their academic and/ professional competence through: research, scholarly or creative work; for scholarship of teaching and learning projects; or for projects which advance professional practice. There are three options for sabbatical leaves including: an annual sabbatical, a Fall semester only sabbatical or a Winter semester only sabbatical.
