Other MRFA Support

At a member’s request, the Faculty Association is able to provide additional support with respect to the following:

  • Tenure and promotion candidates have the right to be accompanied by a tenured colleague as an observer for support at any meeting with the tenure/promotion committee and/or the Dean. Candidates are free to select this colleague, but are welcome to approach the Faculty Association for assistance with the selection.
  • Tenure and promotion appellants, or those considering appeals, are welcome to consult with the Faculty Association in confidence prior to filing the appeal.
  • Members considering a workload appeal pursuant to Collective Agreement Article 14.12 are welcome to consult with the Faculty Association in confidence prior to filing the appeal.
  • Apart from the grievance process (where Association representation is mandatory): any member who wishes to meet with University administration to advance a concern or complaint is welcome to consult with the Faculty Association in confidence before bringing the complaint or concern forward.

Please contact the President of the Faculty Association, Lee Easton at President@mrfa.net for more information.  The President is available for consultations, including of a confidential nature, concerning the Collective Agreement, institutional and evaluative policies and processes, matters of faculty welfare and working conditions, Association Bylaws and polices, and regarding any other questions or concerns about which the Association might be of assistance to our members.
