MRFA Retreat 2022 – Learning Together: New Directions in Challenging Times

Call for Proposals

Proposals are now being accepted for the 2022 Retreat which will be held either in-person (in Kananaskis) or online (pending pandemic restrictions) on April 26-27, 2022.

All proposals must

  • contribute to the professional development of MRU colleagues,
  • relate to the theme of the retreat, and
  • align with the Association’s member-approved mission statement.

Registration and Accommodation Details

Registration will open in February 2022 (with a discounted registration fee for contract members)

**all expenses for attendance are eligible expenses for reimbursement through PD allotments. If you have any questions about your eligibility or how to apply, please email facultyrelations@mrfa.net**

Members will be provided with a discounted rate to book their accommodations at the Lodge.

Room sharing will be facilitated to help members keep costs down (the form will be available when registration opens)

The MRFA will facilitate carpooling closer to the date (the form will be available when registration opens)

Covid Protocols at the Lodge:

To enjoy in-person dining, access to the Indoor Waterpark, Fitness Area, the Kananaskis Nordic spa, and group events the staff at the lodge will be asking for proof of full vaccination or documentation of a medical exemption or proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed)

If you do not have proof of vaccination, you’re more than welcome to enjoy our In-Room Dining menu as a take-out option or in your guest room.


This annual event is co-sponsored by the Mount Royal Faculty Association and Mount Royal University, and is organized by the MRFA’s Professional Development Committee.
