Announcement: Robert Catena Elected as Senior Grievance and Workplace Wellness Officer (2025–2027)

The MRFA is pleased to announce that Robert Catena has been elected to serve as the Senior Grievance and Workplace Wellness Officer (SG&WWO) for the 2025–2027 term.

The SG&WWO plays a critical role in supporting Members by:

  • Advising and assisting Members at Step 1 of grievances and formally submitting grievances at Step 2.
  • Chairing the Grievance Committee, leading grievance-related discussions and initiatives.
  • Representing the MRFA and its Members on the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC).
  • Promoting workplace wellness and reporting regularly to both the Executive Board and the Membership on trends, learnings, and proactive approaches to resolving issues—while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Countersigning cheques and authorizing payments on behalf of the Association.

Members are encouraged to contact Robert if they:

  • Have questions or concerns related to grievances, workplace wellness, or occupational health and safety.
  • Need guidance at Step 1 of the grievance process.
  • Require support in understanding their rights under the Collective Agreement.
