CAFA Whitepaper on AI

CAFA has just released its Whitepaper on AI which provides a comprehensive, research-grounded framework for the thoughtful and responsible integration of Generative AI across Alberta’s post-secondary institutions. This document is vital because it outlines five core recommendations—such as protecting academic freedom, prioritizing human-centred AI, and ensuring faculty-led implementation—to safeguard the foundations of post-secondary education and academic freedom. By addressing these priorities alongside Indigenous consultation and funding needs, the whitepaper aims to establish Alberta as a provincial exemplar for the mindful and informed incorporation of AI into academic practice.
