The MRFA is pleased to announce that Robert Catena has been elected to serve as the Senior Grievance and Workplace Wellness Officer (SG&WWO) for the 2025–2027 term.
The SG&WWO plays a critical role in supporting Members by:
- Advising and assisting Members at Step 1 of grievances and formally submitting grievances at Step 2.
- Chairing the Grievance Committee, leading grievance-related discussions and initiatives.
- Representing the MRFA and its Members on the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC).
- Promoting workplace wellness and reporting regularly to both the Executive Board and the Membership on trends, learnings, and proactive approaches to resolving issues—while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality.
- Countersigning cheques and authorizing payments on behalf of the Association.
Members are encouraged to contact Robert if they:
- Have questions or concerns related to grievances, workplace wellness, or occupational health and safety.
- Need guidance at Step 1 of the grievance process.
- Require support in understanding their rights under the Collective Agreement.
