The Pierre Berton Award, established in 1994 by Canada's National History

Society, celebrates those who have brought Canadian history to a wider

audience. The award recognized the work by Kori and Jennifer on one of 12

websites that make up the Great Unsolved Mysteries in Canadian History

project. Their website, Heaven & Hell on Earth: The Massacre of the Black

Donnelly s, chronicles the brutal demise of a family that emigrated from

Ireland in the 1840s and earned a bad reputation in their Ontario community

of Lucan.
