Submitted by Chantelle on Mon, 11/10/2008 - 10:54
On Thursday November 27 at 4pm Steven Engler will be giving a lecture entitled Tolerance and Liberty: faith in an age of religious pluralism. Engler will discuss what Religious Studies has to teach us about living in a religiously pluralistic society like Canada. Some of the questions to be discussed include: What are the trends in religious pluralism in Canada today? Should we be tolerant of religious intolerance? Is belief in the value of pluralism itself a sort of faith perspective? Does the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms protect or undermine freedom of religion? The lecture takes place at 4pm in Jenkins theatre (I115).
