New Committee Member Information

Some of this information is for new committee members, reminders for continuing members, and some of it may not be relevant to your committee. If you have any questions you can contact me at 6192. Thank you.

 

Committee Transition Event

The MRFA executive is planning for a committee transition event for September 3, 2009. This event is both to thank outgoing members and to introduce new members and provide for a smoother transition for our committees. Please block this day off on your calendar. More details will be provided as they come available. I have attached a 2009-2010 committee contact list for your reference. Please also communicate information for this event with your current members

 

FOAP Chargebacks

Please remember that if you are using the MRFA foap number for doc services etc you need to send me the receipt/yellow form they give you once your order is complete. (if you want to keep the receipt you can send me a photocopy of it). Please ensure you mark on the receipt somewhere which committee made the charges.

 

Reimbursement

If you incur expenses as a result of committee activities please provide me with receipts and a filled out reimbursement form (see attached).

 

Committee Budgets

Some committees are provided with a budget for event planning. Committees that have not been given such a budget draw from one pool of limited funds. Attached is the proposed budget for 2009-2010. I will provide committee chairs with expense reports for their committee every month. This will make reporting much easier for committees (as long as every receipt and chargeback is sent to my office and there is an indication on them of which committee made the charge).

 

Reporting/Communications

The only reporting that is required of committees is the annual report to be submitted at the beginning of May every year. However, to improve faculty members' awareness of what the MRFA committees provide them with, I would appreciate any kind of updates you/your committee is willing to send to me.

Each committee has a section on the website, and information will be posted there.

Also, information/updates/event notices go out in our weekly and monthly newsletters.

Weekly Newsletters are sent out at the beginning of every week: if you want something in this newsletter please have it to me by Monday morning.

The monthly newsletters go out on the first day of every month and provide information about what the MRFA has accomplished in the past month: please have anything you want included in the monthly newsletter to me by the morning of the first day of each month.

 

Election of Chairs

If your committee is responsible for electing its own chair, please let me know the results. To see if you are required to do this look at the appropriate section of article 10 in the MRFA Bylaws.

 

Committee Elections

I have attached my spreadsheet of committee members. This will inform you of who will be continuing through to 2011 and who's positions are up for re-election next May (these are highlighted pink).
