Mission Statement
ACIFA (Alberta Colleges & Institutes Faculties Association) is a representative professional association that acts as the provincial voice for its members - the academic staff associations of Alberta's colleges and technical institutes. Through the collective action and resources of its members, ACIFA promotes the professional and economic well-being of college and technical institute faculty in the interest of advancing the quality of post-secondary education in Alberta.
Objectives
- To foster and promote the purposes of post-secondary education in Alberta Colleges and Technical Institutes.
- To advance and promote the professional and economic interest of post-secondary educators in Colleges and Technical Institutes of Alberta.
- To foster effective communication and interaction between members and with other associated organizations.
- To promote independence and freedom of teaching, thought, research and publication at the post-secondary level.
- To act as the voice for member associations on matters of provincial and national scope while recognizing the need to preserve the local autonomy of members.
- 6. To promote desirable legislation in the interests of its members.
